HOUSTON (AP) — The Houston Texans made mistakes in every facet of the game Sunday against the Tennessee Titans to lose for the third time in four games. C.J. Stroud threw two interceptions, the defense gave up multiple big passing plays and Ka′imi Fairbairn missed a 28-yard field goal that would have tied it late in a 32-27 loss . “Just a disappointing loss for us,” coach DeMeco Ryans said. “We didn’t do anything well enough to win this game. Out of all the positives that we did have, there were way too many negatives, too many negative plays.” Jimmie Ward had a 65-yard interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter and the Texans tied a franchise record with eight sacks. Danielle Hunter led the group with a season-high three sacks and Will Anderson Jr. added two in his return after missing two games with an ankle injury. But the offense sputtered for most of the game as Joe Mixon was held to 22 yards on 14 carries. But Ryans refused to blame the offense for the loss. “Our offense did plenty," Ryans said. "They gave us enough points. On defense, we have to be able to stop them.” Chig Okonkwo grabbed a short pass and rumbled 70 yards for a touchdown to put the Titans (3-8) up 30-27 with 9 1/2 minutes remaining. Safety Eric Murray missed a tackle that would have stopped him near midfield. It was the last of three big passing plays the Titans had Sunday. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine got in front of the defense and was wide open for a 38-yard TD catch that made it 10-7 late in the first quarter. Calvin Ridley had a 63-yard reception that set up their next touchdown in the second. “It was just way too many negative plays,” Ryans said. “Defensively, unexplainable explosives for touchdowns. We didn’t play good across the board and that starts with me.” Despite this, the Texans (7-5) had a chance to tie it with less than two minutes remaining, but Fairbairn’s short field-goal attempt sailed wide left. He fell to the ground after the miss before getting up and slamming his helmet on the field. “The most frustrating part about it is out of all the bad things that happened, we still had a chance to finish the game,” Ryans said. “Everything that could go wrong, it went wrong. We still had a chance there to tie it up and finish the game, and we didn’t.” The Texans forced a three-and-out, but couldn’t move the ball after that and Harold Landry sacked Stroud in the end zone for a safety to make it 32-27 and allow Tennessee to snap a two-game skid. Stroud threw for 247 yards and two touchdowns, but his two interceptions Sunday give him five combined in the past three games. He now has more interceptions in 12 games this season (nine) than he had in 15 games as a rookie last season (five). “It’s no secret that I haven’t been playing well ... I’ve got to be harder on myself,” he said. “I’m not going to hold my head down. I know I can be a great player, but I’ve got to make better plays.” ___ AP NFL: https://apnews.com/hub/nfl Kristie Rieken, The Associated PressThe investigation stems from concerns over potential anticompetitive behavior and violations of EU competition laws. Quantum systems are highly susceptible to errors caused by environmental noise, which can lead to inaccuracies in quantum computations. Developing robust error correction techniques that can reliably detect and correct these errors is essential for building fault-tolerant quantum computers that can outperform classical systems.

Argentina’s Indigenous peoples have just lost their principal legal safeguard against evictions from their ancestral lands. President Javier Milei enacted a presidential decree of necessity and urgency on Tuesday, overturning the country’s Territorial Emergency Law which recognized the pre-existence of Argentina’s Indigenous peoples and afforded protections for registered groups from being forced out from lands traditionally occupied by Indigenous communities. The law was renewed via decree in 2021, but Milei’s 1083/2024 emergency decree — a tool usually reserved for very specific occasions — overturned it on Tuesday. “There is no reason that could justify the emergency to remain in place. Its renewal would mean the consolidation of discrimination between Argentine citizens,” claimed the decree, which was signed by most of Milei’s ministers and will go into effect on December 11. It also contended that the law “prevents the free exercise of productive and recreational activities on the lands involved, as well as limits the right to dispose of such resources.” The Center for Legal and Social Studies (CELS) condemned the move, saying that government officials are “unfurling their racist discourse” against Indigenous communities and highlighting that before being slashed, the law’s implementation was “lukewarm and erratic.” “The law was a protective tool against the criminalization of these communities defending their rights, which is why its enforcement is essential. It provided a response, albeit partial, to a debt owed by the Argentine State to our Indigenous peoples and to comply with obligations assumed by the state before international human rights organizations,” said the human rights nonprofit in a communiqué on Tuesday afternoon. This isn’t the first rollback of Indigenous rights carried out by the administration. In November, Argentina was the only country to vote against a draft resolution on Indigenous Peoples’ rights aimed at preserving their spiritual beliefs, ancestral knowledge, and languages. In late September, the government also suspended a registry that allowed Indigenous communities to earn legal status, garnering a concerned response from the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR). In a statement published last week, the commission said that the move “may undermine” the protection of Indigenous peoples’ rights to lands, territories, and natural resources and their right to self-determination. “This decision was made without consulting Indigenous peoples and potentially affects at least 250 of Argentina’s 1881 officially identified Indigenous communities,” the IACHR said in its statement. Out of those communities, 47% have yet to conduct the mandatory territorial survey, they added. The IACHR also mentioned “broader setbacks in the recognition of Indigenous territories” as well as “forced evictions” that took place in Jujuy, Río Negro, and Chubut provinces earlier this year even despite the 2006 Territorial Emergency Law. Some of those evictions included institutional violence and the stigmatization of leaders and members of Indigenous communities, including the murder of a Mapuche man called Juan Carlos Villa in Río Negro. Villa was killed on August 11 by a provincial police officer, who has since been removed from duty and is now facing trial. The IACHR urged Argentina to “implement effective administrative mechanisms to safeguard the Indigenous peoples’ territorial rights, including recognizing their legal personality and ensuring land restitution.” The organization pointed out that those measures should be consulted and informed to the communities while respecting their cultural identity. Argentina’s National Constitution states that the National Congress must recognize the ethnic and cultural preexistence of the Indigenous peoples in Argentina. This includes acknowledging their legal status and the property of the land they have traditionally occupied.Hansi Flick lamented another "really bad" performance as were held to a 2-2 draw at on Saturday, dropping points for the fourth time in five LaLiga games. Barça twice led through and but a penalty and a 94th minute goal from earned Betis a share of the spoils at the Benito Villamarín. The league leaders have now lost two, drawn two and won just one of their last five fixtures, which has seen their advantage over second place , who still have a game in hand after beating Girona later on Saturday, cut from nine points to two. "It was not a good match," Flick said in the post-game news conference. "We have a young team and we have to improve a lot. It's what we have to do. It's up to us, we have the quality to win every match but we also have to show that." Flick's second half substitutions were also questioned after the game. With the match evenly balanced, he replaced the team's top scorers Lewandowski and in addition to midfielders and . The German coach admitted he did so with one eye on the midweek Champions League trip to , although he also pointed out Barça had struggled with them on the pitch, too. "I know that, but at first we played really bad, also from the beginning," he responded when asked about his changes. "The first situation we played good [in the game] was the Lewandowski goal [in the 39th minute]. "I think we became better also in second half [with the changes]. Of course we had to bring new legs, fresh legs, and we tried for that. We have on Wednesday a big match in the Champions League. We also have to take care about that." Lewandowski's opener was cancelled out when substitute brought down , on loan at Betis from Barça, in the box, with Lo Celso dispatching the subsequent penalty. The spot kick was only given after a lengthy VAR review, though, which angered Flick and led to him being sent off "coming out of his technical area, shouting, gesticulating and protesting a decision," according to the referee's report. "I said nothing to anyone," Flick insisted. "It was just a reaction from myself. I have to accept it. I don't want to speak about referees. I never do this. "I think this was a reaction because it took a long time to look if it was a penalty or not. If it's like this, I'm not sure if it's clear. "I'm really disappointed about [my red card]. I thought that would never happen to me. But here, maybe it's like that, and I have to accept it." Flick said Barça would not appeal the dismissal -- or the touchline ban which will follow -- and praised his assistant Marcus Sorg for his management of the latter stages of the encounter. Barça thought they had won it after Flick's dismissal when Yamal brilliantly set up Torres with his ninth assist of the season -- a league high - in the 82nd minute, but Diao's stoppage time strike earned a point for the home side.
