Too often, he has observed the Gunners' attacking players standing still or making predictable runs, making it easy for defenders to mark them out of the game. Without the fluidity and dynamism needed to unlock defenses, Arsenal have struggled to penetrate and create clear-cut chances in open play.
Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella changed his cleats just 12 minutes into the game after his slips contributed to both of Tottenham's early goals in the teams' London derby in the Premier League on Sunday. The Spain international ceded possession by slipping on the turf at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the fifth and 11th minutes — and from the ensuing attacks, Spurs scored through Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski. Immediately after Kulusevski's shot hit the net to make it 2-0, Cucurella sprinted to the sideline while shrugging his shoulders and pointed to his cleats. He took them off and threw them away in disgust before putting on new ones. It seemed to work. Within six minutes, he provided the pass that led to Jadon Sancho scoring for Chelsea to make it 2-1. Chelsea went on to win 4-3 — and Cucurella posted a photo on social media after the match, showing the first cleats he wore nestled in a bin. “It almost slipped away,” Cucurella wrote on Instagram Stories, “but proud of the amazing team effort to turn things around.” AP soccer: https://apnews.com/hub/soccer
Yearslong fight over beach work in North Wildwood may soon endLAS VEGAS — The runaway streaming success of Hulu’s racy “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” has propelled the series onto ABC’s broadcast schedule in January — and sparked a creative sort of pushback. The show centers on a group of Mormon women whose TikTok videos went viral. The first eight episodes are replete with tales of “soft swinging,” in which cheating partners don’t “go all the way”; some of the women drinking alcohol, a taboo in the faith; and even a domestic-violence arrest, among other eye-popping vignettes. Instead of protesting, eight women members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints wrote, edited and published “The Not-So-Secret Lives of REAL ‘Mormon’ Wives” — in under two months — to show how more devout members of the faith actually live, they exclusively tell The Post. Although church members have been called “Mormons” for decades, the current vibe is to prefer the longer name. This came from a 2018 change by the group’s president and prophet, Russell M. Nelson, now age 100. The edict morphed the famed “Mormon Tabernacle Choir” handle into the “Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square,” for example. But if you imagine the volume comprises stories of prepping batches of lime-green Jell-O (a Utah staple), saying “Oh, my heck” and listening to Donny Osmond albums, think again. The eight authors — each telling her tale in a single chapter — want their stories to be seen as reinforcing the church’s basic teachings but also about how faith helps them deal with various challenges, from the mundane to the extraordinary. The stories range from the account of a hyper-successful fashion entrepreneur to a Zumba-teaching mom who “advocates” for a child born with Down syndrome to a Nigerian chieftain’s daughter who built a successful real-estate business during her husband’s 17 years in the military. Fashion-forward business owner credits faith Fernanda Böhme, co-founder of an eponymous 22-store fashion house offering stylish-but-modest women’s clothes, was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and emigrated to America as a child, when her church-member parents had an opportunity to attend Brigham Young University. Raised in the faith and a member today, Böhme said the Hulu series didn’t upset her but inspired her to share her story, including building her business and parenting a special-needs child. “I hate to say this, but it’s almost a good thing because it’s making people ask questions” about the 194-year-old religion organized in Fayette, New York, about an hour west of Syracuse., she told The Post. “It’s kind of like when ‘The Book of Mormon’ musical came out, the Broadway musical — it got people asking questions.” Böhme said many of the queries — such as whether church members dress like the Amish (they don’t) or ‘How many sister wives do you have?’ (none) — can be answered by coming to the church and seeing what it’s accomplished. “Look at what we’ve done,” she said. “Look at the fruits of our labors. Look at all the people we feed all over the world. You’ll see what we’ve done.” Ironically, Böhme said, one of the Hulu “Mormon Wives” — whom she did not name —is also an online influencer for her fashion brand. “I didn’t find out ’til days ago that we’re sponsoring her wardrobe, and we’re sending clothing or whatever. I thought, ‘Oh my gosh. How did this happen?’ But she was an influencer before the show, so it just kind of happened,” she said. “It’s business, right?” Zumba instructor, mother of Down syndrome teenager Kimberly DowDell’s faith helped her cope with the birth of a Down syndrome child — now 14 and thriving, she said — and the ups and downs of her husband’s career as well as her fast-paced life as a Zumba instructor. “My faith is really what got me through those difficult times,” she said. “I was excited to be a part of this project because I have been sharing our family and our life with our son who has Down syndrome online,” she said. “He’s 14 years old, and our social media blew up with videos that we share of him on a daily basis a little over two years ago.” DowDell said she viewed “maybe the first episode and a half” of the series before dropping it. “You know, life gets busy. I honestly don’t watch a lot of TV,” she said. “As I started to see some of the things that these girls were talking about and the things that unfolded, I thought, ‘Well, that isn’t my experience,’” DowDell said of the show’s extremes. “I haven’t grown up feeling that way or, anyway, having those experiences that they’ve had.” Nigerian chieftain’s daughter Although Esther Jackson-Stowell’s in-laws call her a “Nigerian princess,” the title is more honorary than real. Her father was a chieftain in their southeastern Nigeria home, but the family emigrated to northern California to pursue opportunities and the much-vaunted “American dream.” Jackson-Stowell, mother of five including two foster children, is the “underpaid chauffeur” for the brood as well as a successful real-estate agent and businesswoman in Salt Lake City. She joined the church after meeting a young man who became her husband and who’s spent 17 years in the military. Her book chapter details a journey that spans two continents and two radically different cultures: Nigerian and Mormon. She said she’s grateful for the opportunity the Hulu show gave her to share her story. “I think the members of the church have gotten such a bad rap for so long that to even be a topic of conversation, to me it’s well worth having that conversation because we have something so dear to share, and that is that we love Jesus Christ,” she said. Would she chastise the Hulu show participants for what they’ve portrayed? “I’d probably just give them a hug,” Jackson-Stowell said. “I would give all of them a hug and just tell them, you know, ‘Thank you for bringing this topic to the forefront.’”

US cloud-based designer platform Figma is keen on tapping India’s vast pool of designers and product developers to better support its customers, its cofounder and chief executive, Dylan Field , told ET. Around 85% of Figma’s weekly active users are from outside the US, and a substantial number of them are from India, Field said on the sidelines of the Slush technology summit 2024 in Helsinki, Finland. “I look forward to spending more time in India and finding ways to do our part to help the tech and designing ecosystem there,” Field said without confirming any specific plan or timeline for the company’s expansion into India. He, however, noted that they may kickoff operations with sales and marketing to support new and existing customers in the region. Indian brands like Zomato , Swiggy , Cred and Groww are already using the platform to scale their design process. Also, India leads in the Asia Pacific region with 44% integration of the firm's cloud-based design tools, according to a recent report by the company. “There is a real revenue opportunity in India. It is a myth that you cannot monetise India,” said Field, adding that as Figma spends more time in India, it will be able to find areas to improve its services there. “Right now, the (India) market seems underserved and it is important for us to be there.” Astrology Vastu Shastra Course By - Sachenkumar Rai, Vastu Shashtri View Program Web Development Java 21 Essentials for Beginners: Build Strong Programming Foundations By - Metla Sudha Sekhar, IT Specialist and Developer View Program Marketing Digital Marketing Masterclass by Pam Moore By - Pam Moore, Digital Transformation and Social Media Expert View Program Marketing Marketing & Sales Strategies for Startups: From Concept to Conversion By - Dr. Anu Khanchandani, Startup Coach with more than 25 years of experience View Program Artificial Intelligence(AI) Generative AI for Dynamic Java Web Applications with ChatGPT By - Metla Sudha Sekhar, IT Specialist and Developer View Program Artificial Intelligence(AI) AI and Analytics based Business Strategy By - Tanusree De, Managing Director- Accenture Technology Lead, Trustworthy AI Center of Excellence: ATCI View Program Artificial Intelligence(AI) Basics of Generative AI: Unveiling Tomorrow's Innovations By - Metla Sudha Sekhar, IT Specialist and Developer View Program Artificial Intelligence(AI) Tabnine AI Masterclass: Optimize Your Coding Efficiency By - Metla Sudha Sekhar, IT Specialist and Developer View Program Finance Tally Prime & GST Accounting: Complete Guide By - CA Raj K Agrawal, Chartered Accountant View Program Artificial Intelligence(AI) Mastering C++ Fundamentals with Generative AI: A Hands-On By - Metla Sudha Sekhar, IT Specialist and Developer View Program Finance A2Z Of Money By - elearnmarkets, Financial Education by StockEdge View Program Artificial Intelligence(AI) ChatGPT Mastery from Zero to Hero: The Complete AI Course By - Metla Sudha Sekhar, IT Specialist and Developer View Program Web Development Master RESTful APIs with Python and Django REST Framework: Web API Development By - Metla Sudha Sekhar, IT Specialist and Developer View Program Data Science SQL for Data Science along with Data Analytics and Data Visualization By - Metla Sudha Sekhar, IT Specialist and Developer View Program Marketing Digital marketing - Wordpress Website Development By - Shraddha Somani, Digital Marketing Trainer, Consultant, Strategiest and Subject Matter expert View Program Web Development C++ Fundamentals for Absolute Beginners By - Metla Sudha Sekhar, IT Specialist and Developer View Program Office Productivity Mastering Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and 365 By - Metla Sudha Sekhar, IT Specialist and Developer View Program Strategy ESG and Business Sustainability Strategy By - Vipul Arora, Partner, ESG & Climate Solutions at Sattva Consulting Author I Speaker I Thought Leader View Program Office Productivity Advanced Excel Course - Financial Calculations & Excel Made Easy By - Anirudh Saraf, Founder- Saraf A & Associates, Chartered Accountant View Program Web Development Mastering Full Stack Development: From Frontend to Backend Excellence By - Metla Sudha Sekhar, IT Specialist and Developer View Program Finance AI and Generative AI for Finance By - Hariom Tatsat, Vice President- Quantitative Analytics at Barclays View Program Web Development Django & PostgreSQL Mastery: Build Professional Web Applications By - Metla Sudha Sekhar, IT Specialist and Developer View Program Artificial Intelligence(AI) Master in Python Language Quickly Using the ChatGPT Open AI By - Metla Sudha Sekhar, IT Specialist and Developer View Program San Francisco-headquartered Figma was founded in 2012 by Field and Evan Wallace—both computer science enthusiasts from Brown University, US as a visual design product. The platform is used by designers, product teams and developers to create user interfaces (UI) and user experiences (UX), and is known for its cloud-based accessibility and real-time collaboration features, akin to Google Docs. Discover the stories of your interest Blockchain 5 Stories Cyber-safety 7 Stories Fintech 9 Stories E-comm 9 Stories ML 8 Stories Edtech 6 Stories Valued at around $12.5 billion, Figma also supports prototyping, shared design systems, and a range of plugins and integrations, besides being a community repository of templates and resources that enhance its functionality, positioning it as a strong competitor to older design players like Adobe and Sketch. Figma’s product suite includes FigJam for brainstorming and ideation, Figma Design for software design, and Dev Mode, which helps developers translate designs into code. Field said there is a possibility of building more services like a ‘loop’, where developers can think about what comes in the later stages after coding, and then eventually bring all that back into ideation on the Figma platform. “If we can accomplish that, then we are really special,” he said. Adobe deal falling through In 2022, the Photoshop maker Adobe announced plans to acquire Figma for $20 billion. However, last year, in a big blow to both companies, they jointly declared the termination of the deal following scrutiny from UK and EU regulators on antitrust issues . Adobe was obligated to pay Figma a reverse termination fee of $1 billion in cash. Field addressed the fallout, saying they will now build the products independently which they would have developed if the deal had gone through. “It is impossible to know the counterfactual, but here we are, and we have tons to build. And the same things we are going to build if the deal has gone through,” Field said. Impact of AI On the role of artificial intelligence in the design process, Field highlighted that AI has been effective in lowering entry barriers for newcomers by simplifying and automating the more basic aspects of design, making it more accessible and approachable for everyone. “Our general framework is to make it easier for people to facilitate more design process along with making sure that they only the work that experts can do,” he said. Figma recently faced a setback with its AI-powered design tool, ‘Make Design,’ after it generated outputs resembling the Apple weather app. This raised concerns about the tool's reliance on existing app designs during its training process. Some critics argued that it was too dependent on pre-existing designs. In response, Figma temporarily disabled the feature. Announcing the decision to suspend the foot march for the day, farmer leaders said they will decide the next course of action on Monday. As the protesting farmers resumed their foot march, they were halted by a multilayered barricade set up by security personnel who surprised the protesters by offering them tea and biscuits and also showering them with flower petals. The protesters, however, claimed it was all a "drama" as the police soon lobbed teargas shells and used water jets to disperse them when they insisted on crossing the Shambhu border. The protesters, dubbed as 'marjeevras' (someone willing to die for a cause), were stopped only a few meters into the march. The standoff continued for over three hours, following which it was called off for the day. Punjab farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher in the evening said six farmers were injured. One of them was rushed to the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh. Pandher said their protest completed 300 days on Sunday. The next course of action will be decided in a meeting of their forums — the Samyuka Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha — on Monday. "We have called back the jattha. Whatever happened today was seen by the whole country," said Pandher as he slammed the use of teargas against farmers. “The administration used tactics...immediately after showering flowers, they fired teargas shells and rubber bullets at farmers,” he claimed. Pandher claimed that mediapersons were stopped by the Punjab police from reaching the protest site as their Haryana counterparts had asked them to keep the media at least 1 km away from the protest site. Another farmers' leader, Baldev Singh Zira, said farmers were moving ahead in a peaceful manner and they were not carrying any weapon and criticised the security personnel for using teargas against them. Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, meanwhile, continued with his fast unto death at the Khanauri border, which entered the 13th day on Sunday. While in Greater Noida, the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), in a statement, said, "Farmers who are currently imprisoned in the district jail of Gautam Buddha Nagar have gone on a hunger strike to defend their rights and interests." Ambala police had earlier said the farmer outfits can march to Delhi only after getting permission from the national capital administration. The protesting farmers have been camping at the Shambhu and Khanauri border points between Punjab and Haryana since February 13, pressing for a legal guarantee for minimum support price and other demands.
US coach Emma Hayes admits to anthem uncertainty ahead of England stalemateFirefighters remain at the scene of an inferno at a Scots industrial estate nearly 24 hours after fire broke out. Crews have worked overnight to contain flames at Brucefield Industrial Park in Livingston after receiving the initial call out at 1.35pm on Saturday. A building at the facility was pictured engulfed in flames yesterday afternoon. Dramatic footage showed the fire ravaging through the roof as thick pockets of smoke spread from the premises into the West Lothian sky. The incident could be seen for miles with the thick column of smoke spotted from as far away as Fife. There were no reported injuries. Fire chiefs confirmed that two fire engines remain at the scene of the incident this morning. Crews are continuing to work to ensure the area is safe. Motorists no longer need to avoid the area. Nearby residents have also been assured that they can reopen their windows and doors. Snag Tights, a fashion business that has a warehouse opposite the blaze also made a statement on social media yesterday afternoon. They wrote: "We had word this afternoon that the warehouse opposite Snag was on fire . The blaze is quite big. We know for sure all our people are safe and we’re praying no one in the other buildings is hurt. At the moment our stock is safe and firefighters are working hard to stop the fire. We’ll update as we know more." A statement from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service reads: "We still have two appliances at Livingston's Brucefield Industrial Estate, with crews working to ensure the area is safe. People no longer need to avoid the area and nearby homes no longer need to keep windows and doors closed. Thank you for your support." Forget Landman and Yellowstone – Taylor Sheridan has pulled out all the military stops for Episode 8, a.k.a the dramatic finale of Lioness Season 2. It’s time to trust the CIA for one last mission. After the events set up in Episode 7, Team Lioness is heading back to base in Iraq, needing to intercept enemy intel on the border as quietly as possible. At the same time, Kaitlyn is now overseeing the overarching plot of Los Tigres, a Mexican drug cartel Joe has been chasing this entire time. They’ve got the inside hand with their niece Josephina being a US soldier, but it’s now up to her dad Pablo to play ball. Joe almost lost her life in the binge-worthy TV show , but she’s intent on being back on the battlefield. But can she make it out alive... and can anyone else? Here’s the full rundown of Lioness Season 2 Episode 8 (Warning: spoilers ahead !). The Iran mission is complex in Lioness Season 2 Episode 8 Episode 8 of Lioness Season 2 opens on the Turkey-Iraq-Iran border convergence. Cody is in position in complete camo (yes, Taylor Sheridan is back !), tracking a helicopter that is about to land. Jo, Bobby, Josephina, and Cruz are following up in tanks, with Joe near her physical limits before they even begin. They get back to the US base, where we saw Joe and Josephina meet during Episode 2 . When the team tries to gear up, Joe insists on taking a gun with her – remember, she was told in Episode 7 that she’s only allowed to observe and advise. Meanwhile, Josephina’s old Commander thinks she’s out of her mind to be flying a helicopter she doesn’t know with only one door gunner and no flight plan. Cruz will be with her, and the two promise to “talk” should they get through the new mission alive. The team is briefed. Essentially, they’ve got about two hours to get to an outpost to intercept the enemy. There’s support, but not much – or it’s been damaged in Afghanistan. The enemy is well-trained and well-stocked, almost entirely matching the Lionesses. Iraq’s border is only two miles away, but Joe has already been told damage needs to happen in Iran. The operation officially gets named Sky Hawk. Related: Pablo chooses his side Kaitlyn and Bryon arrive where Kyle is holing up, looking to talk to Pablo. His global bank accounts have all been frozen, including his trusts for the children. Kaitlyn clarifies they’re there to “eliminate the threat to United States national security,” which is technically his brother. What they want is Pablo’s trust to help them, which in turn they would “tirelessly protect.” When Pablo falters, the pair tempt him with “the security he has in Mexico with the freedom he has in the United States.” Pablo is made to call Alvaro, with Kaitlyn and Bryon wanting to meet him the following morning. They promise him $300 million upfront, with more to be arranged. Meanwhile, Edwin calls the Chief of Staff in to be briefed on an unfolding development. Two Chinese nuclear scientists are en route to Isfahan Nuclear Base with either information or supplies, essentially activating Iran’s nuclear abilities. The president has no knowledge of this. When four vehicles leave the enemy outpost, it’s all go. While Sheridan’s character is driving the equivalent of an army dune buggy across open plains, Josephina and Cruz attack the enemy convoy from the air. Their helicopter is hit and is going down. They brace for impact, crashing into the ground. Bobby and the on-ground team are sent to move in, with Cody in a nearby sniper base trying to take out whoever from the convoy was left standing. We cut to an airfield where Kaitlyn and co. are taken to meet Alvaro. Everybody is made to step out of the car before they arrive at his premises, which turns into a gun standoff. Pablo calms things down, with the cars moving in. Bryon sneaks a gun into Pablo’s pocket, who immediately shoots Alvaro in the face, taking down the rest of his henchmen with him. Pablo tells the remaining guys the cartel has a new boss, and that the Chinese hostage belongs to the CIA. Miraculously, the entire team survives In Iran, Cruz emerges from the crash. Josephina is also alive, but she can’t walk. They’re completely exposed to incoming enemy vehicles, with Joe’s team being called back to base. She dismisses the orders, telling Bobby they need to get there first. They are hugely outnumbered, leading to a shootout before they’re able to get to the crash site. There’s only so much Cody can do, and the rest are getting annihilated. Cody advises they fall back, leaving the snipers to cover after disabling the enemy vehicles. In the meantime, they’re hit by a new tank. They survive, but it’s revealed their location to the enemies on the ground. They move on foot while Joe finds the helicopter. While the team regroups, the entire outpost approaches to attack on foot. As Cody tells Joe they need to move, Edwin watches, being advised to call the president. Backup is still five minutes away, with more enemy soldiers turning up. One by one, the team starts to get shot as enemies swarm in. Joe runs out of ammo, with Josephina left screaming in pain. Just when things look at their bleakest, presidential backup arrives, destroying all enemy units in their surroundings. Relevant ambassadors phone the CIA, with Edwin advising to “let them stew.” Nobody has died, but there are some serious life-threatening injuries among the Lionesses. The clean-up operation is overwhelming, and Joe is left in an extremely emotional state. She breaks down in tears, later arriving back home. Neal is on the doorstep waiting for her, and the two make up after their previous row. Lioness Season 2 is available on Paramount Plus. They emphasized that personal growth and inner peace are key agents of change for creating a tolerant and harmonious community. The two-day event, titled“Building Bridges: Fostering Tolerance & Inclusivity among Youth,” was organized by the Islamabad-based think tank, Pak Institute for Peace Studies (PIPS). It gathered educators, students, activists, and civil society members to discuss the role of youth in shaping a peaceful future. Renowned scholar Dr. Qibla Ayaz, a member of the Shariat Appellate Bench of the Supreme Court, underscored that while Pakistan's constitutional framework ensures equal citizenship for all, societal issues stem from the social structure rather than the Constitution itself.“The Constitution provides equal rights to minorities, but societal attitudes need to align with these principles,” he said. Also Read: Climate Change Threatens Agriculture in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Farmers Struggle to Cope Moderating the session, senior journalist Rifatullah Orakzai highlighted the relationship between the constitution, parliament, and citizenship, noting the need for a deeper understanding of civic responsibilities. Dr. Rashid Ahmad from the University of Peshawar critiqued the current education system, labeling it misaligned with market demands. He stressed the need for educational reforms that harness youth potential and steer them toward meaningful contributions.“Our education policy neither meets market needs nor helps youth fully realize their potential,” he added. Political activist and lawyer Dileep Doshi led an engaging session on the evolution of human rights, emphasizing the state's responsibility to protect fundamental freedoms.“Human rights are universal and inalienable,” Doshi noted, urging youth to actively understand and defend their rights to build a just and equitable society. Dr. Syed Irfan Ashraf, a journalist and academic, spoke on“Blessing in Diversity,” emphasizing that language, culture, and society are key pillars of diversity. He explained that true diversity thrives on tolerance and called for raising voices against violence to safeguard cultural and religious differences. Motivational speaker Husnain Jamal delivered insights on“Crafting an Easy Life,” urging young people to embrace non-violence as a path to personal and societal peace. He shared global examples to illustrate how simplicity and non-violence contribute to a more peaceful existence. In his concluding remarks, PIPS President Muhammad Amir Rana stressed the importance of critical thinking in reducing faith-based conflict.“Critical thinking isn't about rejecting everything but viewing the world through a broader lens,” he said. He encouraged youth to engage with people from diverse backgrounds to nurture acceptance and inclusivity in society. The workshop concluded with a collective resolve to promote tolerance, peace, and inclusivity, reinforcing the pivotal role of youth in building bridges across divides for a more peaceful future.
